Tall Stories brings great stories to life for audiences of all ages. The company is a registered charity which has become internationally recognised for its exciting blend of storytelling theatre, original music and lots of laughs.
The company was founded in 1997 by joint artistic directors Olivia Jacobs and Toby Mitchell, who have co-created all the company’s shows since then. Tall Stories is a registered charity which has become internationally recognised for its exciting blend of storytelling theatre, original music and lots of laughs. The company’s unique brand of physical storytelling theatre has toured from Cornwall to Aberdeen and from New York to Sydney! Tall Stories currently produces a mix of small-scale and larger-scale shows – the larger ones subsidising the smaller ones. The company has also received occasional support from Arts Council England, among other funders.

David first brought his visceral style to the stage with ‘Skipping Rope’, developed with Talawa and Box of Tricks. ‘Skipping Rope’ was shortlisted for the Alfred Fagon Award and saw David invited onto Channel 4’s Screenwriting Course.
We’ve had the great pleasure of working with some amazing artists in 2018. As we look back on the year, these two storytellers from early in the year certainly made their mark – David Judge and Shannelle ‘Tali’ Fergus.
